EDITION HOKE pushing printmaking to its limits! printmaking, exhibitions, research and development, knowledgetransfer

EDITION HOKE is a platform in the heart of Munich that focuses on printmaking. Founded in 2010 it has produced a wide range of artistic prints as well as exhibitions, discussions and presentations of technical and artistic visions. Artists have the chance to see their ideas implemented through the high-quality technical execution that the printmaking studio provides.

EDITION HOKE offers collaboration combining technical skills with those of the artist, so that there is a level of mediation between the idea and the printed work where the artistic expression interacts with the material and the whole process. Through this combination, printmaking opens up its own unique forms of expression in terms of haptics, flow and quality.

In addition, EDITION HOKE organizes exhibitions, conducts research and development, publishes art and reference books and is actively involved in knowledge transfer.

In collaboration with contemporary artists and through experimental work of the highest level, printmaking is pushed beyond its limits.

EDITION HOKE is run by master printer Franz Hoke. Building on his art studies and training as a Handpressenkupferdrucker at the former Hanfstängl art publishing house, he founded his own workshop 15 years ago. Since then, he has not only printed for a large number of artists, but also organized exhibitions, symposia, and specialist events, including the “III International Lithography Days“, “StonePlatePolyester,” and “Lithographs and Etchings I & II.”

From 2015 to 2020, he also headed the Steindruck München lithography workshop.

In addition to teaching at academies, universities, and art institutions, his focus is on research and development, as well as the creation and publication of specialist books on the subject of printmaking.

His comprehensive knowledge and expertise, combined with years of experience, guarantee the highest quality of both technical and artistic support and the resulting prints.

Thanks to independent research and development, innovations, improvements, and previously undescribed processes can be published in practical reference books and distributed worldwide.

These can be found here as well as in academies, universities, printing studios, and libraries in AR, AT, AU, BE, BR, CA, CH, CL, CN, CR, CY, CZ, DE, DK, EC, ES, FR, IE, JP, MT, MX, NL, NO, PL, RU, SE, UK, US, UY.
